Proudly based out of Winston-Salem, N.C., Big Daddy Love (BDL) will take the stage as the Midweek Mix official headline kickoff act. Far from a gentle string quartet, this acclaimed group defies a single genre, blending rock, bluegrass, southern soul, and psychedelic jams into a unique sound they call “Appalachian Rock.”

With over 16 years on the road and well over a thousand shows played nationwide, BDL has an incredible performance resume that spans from intimate coffeehouses to Raleigh’s own 20,000-seat PNC Arena. They are celebrated fixtures on the major southeastern festival circuit, having graced stages at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, The Big What, and FloydFest, where they were named the premier festival’s “On the Rise” / “Under the Radar” award winners, recognizing emerging artists. Boasting a decorated history that includes being a three-time featured band on Nashville’s Music City Roots and earning “Best Album of the Year” honors from the Homegrown Music Network, the quartet is currently working on new music.
