Our Mission

MRA unites businesses, residents, and community leaders to shape and support the long-term vision for Midtown Raleigh. As a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt nonprofit and a 100% privately funded membership organization, MRA is committed to strengthening Midtown’s business district, improving transportation and connectivity, and enhancing quality-of-life amenities for the entire community.

Founded in 2011, MRA catalyzes collaboration among residents, business leaders, and city officials—working together to ensure Midtown remains a healthy, inclusive, and economically vibrant community where innovation and tradition thrive side by side.

What We Do

Creating an irresistible sense of place doesn’t happen by chance—and maintaining one takes collaboration. Midtown Raleigh Alliance advances its mission through advocacy, engagement, and strategic partnerships that support thoughtful growth across the district.

Develops future leaders through the Midtown Community Hero Scholarship Program, empowering the next generation to shape their community.

Educates and engages the public by hosting speaker events throughout the year that address timely issues impacting Midtown Raleigh and gather valuable community feedback.

Supports economic development by collaborating with partners to collect and share key demographic data with market analysts and prospective Midtown employers.

Enhances public spaces by working with the City of Raleigh to expand the Pole Banner Program, inviting residents to partner with local artists to beautify Midtown’s streetscapes.

Champions infrastructure planning as the driving force behind the long-range vision for safety and transportation improvements along the Six Forks Road Corridor.
